CBAM import data checklist: what should I prepare?
By Atmovo · Updated · General information and pilot workflow
Short answer
For an Atmovo CBAM pilot assessment, prepare the importing entity and role, product CN codes and origins, and dated net-mass records. Keep evidence and verification status with the values. A complete form is not automatically a verified assessment.
Company and importing arrangement
Use the legal name and entity identifier of the company being assessed. Record incorporation country, role, EU import country, importing entity and customs declarant information. Keep separate profiles where the importing legal entities are different.
Capture the declarant status as provided, including what still needs confirmation. A user-selected “approved” label is not a government verification service.
Products and source records
For each product, enter a recognizable name, CN code, sector and origin. Retain the specification and declaration reference that support those values. If two products use different classifications, keep them on separate lines.
| Input | Record alongside it |
|---|---|
| CN code and product description | Classification source and unresolved qualifiers |
| Origin | Origin documentation and review questions |
| Net mass | Unit, product, importer and start/end dates |
| Cumulative quantity | Calendar year and snapshot end date |
| Verification | Reviewer, date, source and exact values reviewed |
Dated quantities: choose one clear basis
A shipment or non-overlapping period quantity describes a separate amount. A cumulative snapshot describes the year-to-date total through its end date. Do not enter the same imports under both bases and expect the software to infer which duplicate to remove.
In the pilot, cumulative periods begin on January 1. Missing periods, conflicting snapshots and overlapping shipment periods stay visible as information that needs review. Edits are free and can invalidate the review attached to the earlier values.
After editing a profile, re-run the assessment
The saved result describes the facts and rule versions used when it was generated. Editing a profile should not silently rewrite that earlier document. Atmovo marks the profile as needing a re-assessment and requires a current assessment before generating a new result or action plan.
This checklist describes the input-readiness workflow for the current software pilot. It is not a complete CBAM declaration, installation-emissions reporting template or customs filing checklist. Use current Commission and competent-authority materials for those separate processes.
